Sunset Meditation with Fahad Siadat
Join us for a sunset meditation led by Fahad Siadat on Sunday, April 12 at 7pm, presented as part of the public programming for Roksana Pirouzmand’s exhibition, everything was once something else (the land was the sea, the sea was the land).
Taking place on the 8th floor of the Bendix Building (JOAN is on the 7th floor), this guided meditation invites participants to attune to the subtle vibrations that move through Pirouzmand’s work. The exhibition spans JOAN and OXY ARTS, bringing together sculptural forms activated through sound and resonance, where nearly imperceptible movements generate chains of energy that ripple across objects, spaces, and sites. This meditation extends that field of resonance, offering a collective moment to feel and embody these transmissions.
We recommend bringing a jacket and wearing comfortable clothing.
Fahad Siadat explores sound as spiritual practice, creating interdisciplinary works that serve as a vehicle for unveiling the mystery of our interconnected world. His music has been described as “evoking wonder, desire, and terror” (Off Broadway), with narratives that “border on being a spiritual journey” (LA Dance Chronicle), and has been presented by the L.A. County Museum of Art, Broadstage, and the Museum of Contemporary Art.
Working as a performer, composer, conductor, and curator, Fahad is the director of the Resonance Collective and the award-winning vocal ensemble HEX. His music has been performed in Europe, China, and across the United States.
